Iceland day 7

The view in the morning once the sky cleared:

The first thing we did was hike up to Dynjandi, but we passed some smaller waterfalls on the way up.

Dynjandi:

Looking back on the fjord from the waterfall:

Then we continued on our scenic drive through the westfjords.

I was excited when I saw this sign, but did not actually see any sea monsters.

We passed this old abandoned ship on the beach and got out to explore it.

There was a geocache there. Mark looked for a while and couldn't find it, but luckily I spotted it right before we left.

I loved this little black church we passed on our way to the beach:

Raudasandur beach. One of the few gold sand beaches in Iceland.

There are sheep everywhere in the westfjords. On the beach, on the road, on the mountains.

Up next were the Latrabjarg bird cliffs.

Mark let me have a go with his giant camera.

If you were wondering if we got close to any puffins, the answer is yes.

We warmed up after the windy bird cliffs in a hot spring right by the ocean. This picture was taken just after midnight. No flash needed on an Iceland summer night.
