We left Finisterre at 8:30 this morning on a bus. This was the worst bus ride I have ever been a part of. We drove along the coast for most of it, but the coast is not a nice straight line. The roads were super windy. It took me a total of 2 minutes before I was positive that I was going to throw up. Somehow I managed not to for the two hour trip. I didn't talk to mark the whole ride because I was sure if I opened my mouth vomit would come out. But when we arrived it turned out he had had the same exact experience as me.
When we arrived in Santiago Mark said he was going to lie down for a second. That turned into about an hour long nap during which I read. And snuck this photo.
When he woke up we headed back toward the cathedral.
We got some ice cream and this dog suddenly wouldn't stop following us. He really wanted Mark to share with him. Of course once the ice cream was gone, so was he.
We went inside the cathedral again to give Santiago one last hug.
And admire botafumeiro one last time.
I hadn't noticed this nice little Santiago matamoros tribute the last time.
I had secretly hoped the scaffolding would have somehow disappeared. But of did not. Supposedly it will take two more years to restore.
Camino in 2017 anyone?
We had dinner.
And then headed to our rooftop tour of the cathedral!
Notice I am literally standing on the roof of the cathedral with the dome behind me.
Our tour guide explained the history of the cathedral, which is a Romanesque cathedral turned a little gothic and very baroque. It was a great tour.
After the tour we bought a couple of keepsakes and then headed back to the albergue because we have an early bus to catch tomorrow so that we can make our flight to Norway.

Glad you survived the bus trip. What a cool tour!
