Day 16

This morning we left Triacastela around 7:00 am. We were hoping to stay ahead of the sun today.

After only a few kilometers we passed through this quaint little town:

After that we had some hills to walk up through lots of trees.

The path was a little wet.

There have been several little fountains along the trail in Galicia. I'm never 100% sure if they are for drinking or not.

We passed so many cows today. This one posed for my photo.

Once we came out if the trees the landscape was gorgeous.

Here's a tiny waterfall we passed:

Around 10:30 we stopped for a sort of brunch. Walking for 3 + hours can make you pretty hungry!

Then we continued on our way.

Past streams:

And roads:

And signs:

And geese:

Until we arrived in Sarría!

We stopped at the monastery for a stamp in our pilgrim's passports.

We stopped for some fresh squeezed orange juice because it was so hot while we were walking.

But we decided to keep going because it was only noon.

We arrived in Barbadelo an hour or so later, where we were greeted by the biggest dog ever!

We also met these Austrian brothers who were dressed like twins.

We had dinner at close to 8 pm. Dinner was only served at one time. Otherwise we would have eaten at like 4 and gone to bed by 8.

Here is the group that we ate with:
